What if a successful, single Londoner and a comfortable, Connecticut mother of two were to walk in each other’s shoes for a month? Vicky Townsley is the director of Poise! magazine and lives a glamorous London life. She has everything she wants—except marriage, children, and a house in the country. Amber Winslow has a stone mansion in Connecticut, two kids, and a nanny, but she hasn’t found the fulfillment she had expected from being a wife and mother. When she spots an intriguing contest in Poise!, Amber never expects to be picked.
Offered as an international bookring.

Received today. I have 1.5 books ahead of it. Thanks for sharing :D
Better than average chicklit from Jane Green (as per usual). I love how the ending is a little more realistic and not the sunshine and roses it usually is in chicklit. (Although, sunshine and roses definitely has its place.)
Thanks for sharing, will PM the next in line.
Updated (28/01/08): Posted to India today.

This one has arrived in India. I have a couple of bookrings in front of it, but I am a fast reader, so it shouldn't take too long.
I have read practically all of Jane Green's novels and they never fail to entertain and enthrall. This one was no different. The concept of swapping lives is not new (by all the reality shows nowadays) but I'd not read a book about it. I can see how the concept would be intriguing, but I would never be able to leave my family for a whole month. A couple of days would be a treat, but a month would be too much.
Good book. Thanks for sharing. It will be going out to the next reader as soon as I get an address.

It arrived a week or so ago, but I am just now getting a chance to make a journal entry and start reading it.
I have several pressing task in the next couple of weeks, so my reading will probably be a bit slower than usual, but I don't anticipate having it more than 3 weeks or so.
So far it sounds very interesting and has captured my attention just within the first several pages - looking forward to getting into it more.
Thanks for sharing :)

Finished this one last night.
Really enjoyed the slef realizations that both Amber and Vicky made during their experiences of "living the other's life".
Was a bit annoyed with Amber's reaction when she got home and flew off the handle at Richard's news. Understandably she would be upset, but with her new prespective, this gives her the chance to make that clean break she wants for her family, so the fact that she got so angry seemed to discount the "new" attitude she brought back from her swapping experience.
I think the message of the book was well presented and as a result of reading, I think that one wouldn't have to actually swap lives so much as step away from the routine of it for a bit to figure out if it is the lifestyle of choice.
The Highland women SO reminded me of the Stepford wive.
Thanks for letting me be part of this bookring - will be off to Nicole4 as soon as I get an address.

Arrived safe and sound! I am currently reading another book for a book spiral, but I will get to this soon! Thanks!
I needed some fun chick lit. I've been reading a lot of crime thrillers and this was a much needed break! Fun book...kind of felt like they spent more time building up to who the characters were than what the swap was really like. Still a fun read though!
Will mail to next in line as soon as I have the address!

Yikes! Time has gotten away from me this summer! I apologize for the delay in getting this book off to the next reader! But, I dropped it at the post office this morning so it is on its way to carelaise, as the next in line asked to be skipped! Thank you!
Rec'd the book yesterday. Will start reading it asap, since I have no rings/rays, other than this one, with me. After that, it will return home to aunt-sophie!
Classical subject for a novel: two strangers swap their lives for a month to see if the grass is greener on the other side. For me, it was an average chicklit, it took a lot of time for the swap to take place and once it was the case, it went real fast. I did enjoy the self realization both characters went through, which made the story a bit more real. But I had found that there were some "lengths" at moments but still, the author has a fluid writing style and I do like the British humor. I'm still gonna read more of the books written by Jane Green, I just won't rush to the public library of the bookstore to get them!
Since I'm the last one on this ring, the book will go back to aunt-sophie sometime soon!

Another successful ring made it back home! Thank you to all the participants for making it run so smoothly, and to carelaisa for bringing it back to me!
This one is the second novel by her which I read, and I must say that once again I gave up after a few chapters. I just don’t get into Green’s book, although I cannot say why exactly. They sounds like I should enjoy them, but I don't. Oh well.
Just got from Aunt Sophie. Thank you.
I only read the first chapter and well I've seen the movie so since my tbr pile is pretty large at the mo, I have decided to make this one available.
I passed this on to a fellow reader. Hopefully she will enjoy it. :)
