"When Adeline Yen Nah's mother died giving birth to her, the family considered Adeline bad luck and she was made to feel unwanted all her life. Chinese Cinderella is the story of her struggle for acceptance and how she overcame the odds to prove her worth."

Thank you so much Ahava, for bringing this book to me. It sounded really interesting so I had to take it with me. Will take some time before I'll read it, but Ahava knows. I will return it to Ahava after reading.

After holding the book for over a ear I decided to read the book. The timing was also good, so I read it as a salute to Olympic games in Beijing, China.

It was quite easy to read, the English was easy and obviously ent for teenagers. The story was really sad, but I guess that's been a bit more common in China in early 20th century when girls weren't as important as boys were. Only thing that made me dissappointed was the end, I wanted to know more about her life afterwards. There was just a remark to the writer's biography, "You can read more about it from there". Infuriating.

Thank you Ahava for lending the book to me, now you can finally have it back. :)

Thank you very much Ahava for letting us read this book. We'll take very well care of it.
If you want then afterwards to read both stories together, we can lend you the "Falling Leaves"-book as we have that one at home!

I finally got my book back and promise to read it by the end of the year (which, I guess, is a utopistic goal). :) Thank you bookwormess and hippolein for sharing your thoughts on the story!
