BackCover:
TO CATCH A KILLER, SHE MUST BREAK EVERY RULE AND CROSS EVERY LINE.
A picture-perfect Tennessee town has just become a monster's hunting ground. Two bodies are found tortured to death. A third person goes missing. What little evidence is left behind defies all explanation. Is the terror just beginning? Or have the good citizens of Gladstone harbored a dark secret for a long time?
Sheriff Miranda Knight is determined to make her small town safe once more. And she does what she swore she would never do: involve FBI profiler Noah Bishop. He's the one man who knows about her unique abilities, and that knowledge almost destroyed her and her sister years ago. Now, as Bishop arrives with his team of agents, Miranda must learn to trust him and use her abilities once more. For they're about to go on the hunt for a killer whose madness has no bounds, a killer who knows exactly how to destroy Miranda: by preying on her sister.

What is a bookring and how do I get in on it?(thanks go to PHC for her detailed instructions which helped me greatly in understanding the process)

A bookring begins when a bookcrosser decides to send a book on a controlled journey. A list of interested readers is set up and the book passes from one reader who reads it and then sends it along to the person next in line. Eventually the book ends up back in the hands of the original owner which, for this book, will be me, nikel27. A reader can join the bookring at any time unless I decide to close it (if that happens I'll make a note that the ring has closed).

What should I do when I receive the book?
Log on to bookcrossing and type in up journal entry so I know it reached you okay. Then private message (PM) the next person in line to get their mailing address so there will be no waiting once you finish the book, if they do not respond within 10 days PM the next reader in line (and me so I know they are no longer interested). Please read the book within 30 days and when complete add another journal entry with your comments. Tell me the truth :) Was it the best thing you ever read or a complete and utter waste of time? I love to talk to books, the good, the bad and ugly (ugly can sometimes be lots of fun to dissect), you can write one sentence or a hundred. When finished
What if I'm the last in line PM me and I'll send you my mailing address.

Thanks for participating!

Please PM me if would like to be added to the list or have any questions about the book or the bookring!

7 out of 10

The only thing this series has in common is FBI agent Noah Bishop and various other people with psychic abilities. While Bishop does not have a starring role in the first two books in this series, he is one of the main characters in this novel, the third book in the Shadows trilogy. I found this book the most unbelievable of the three, too many characters with psychic abilities, too few skeptics. However, the premise of story and the crimes committed were more chilling in this book. Also, the mention of ghosts and other planes of existence gave the story more of a paranormal feel, which made it more interesting, holding my interest 'til the end. I'm looking forward to continuing the Special Crimes Unit series with the next trilogy, the Evil trilogy.

Thank you for sharing nikel27, will pass along to BooksnBeer tomorrow.

Too funny - I just handed the 2nd book to the mailman and he handed me a package back - the 3rd book.

7 out of 10

A quick enjoyable read – good airplane book. I have to say, I liked this one the best, so far. I enjoyed learning a lot more about Noah Bishop and liked how the characters all came clean – came out into the open. But, it did move further away from mystery and more into the Paranormal – not everybody’s cup of tea.

I will be passing this one on tomorrow.

alright, I've decided: this book will continue its travels without being read. I didn't feel like reading it after not liking the first two books of this trilogy.
I kept the book a while just in case I felt like reading it after a while. But I didn't and still don't.
As I don't like holding up books for more time than neccessary I'll be sending this on to WelshHelen this afternoon.

8 out of 10

This was another enjoyable read from Kay Hooper. It was great to finally have Bishop as an integral part of the story, rather than just popping in and out as he did in the first two books. I loved Tony Harte and hope that he appears in Hooper's later books and both Randy and Bonnie were interesting and likeable characters.

This was probably my favourite book of the three and I really do enjoy Hooper's writing style.

Thanks for sharing, nikel27, the book will be in the post back to you in the next couple of days.
