I remember that I did like the book, but I forgot about the details.
But I seem to remember one rule: Walking around in snow is dangerous.

Probably more of a winter read. Anyway, its nice to be inside, reading about ugly weather conditions without central heating.

Picked it up at the meet-up in Mainz, and was curious - are there any chronicles 1-5?

Took some time to get me started with this book. For some reason unknown even to myself I took it to be Fantasy when I picked it up, so I didn't get what I expected, but that was no problem. Story and characters were pleasantly credible, but the plot took some time to "get going". The book did not "suck me in" as much as might be hoped. Which is not to say it was a bad book, but there are better.

I hope it finds a new reader!
