Editorial Reviews
Brother Cadfael solves the murder of a nun and is delighted to learn more about his own past.
First Sentence:
It was early in November of 1139 that the tide of civil war, lately so sluggish and inactive, rose suddenly to sweep over the city of Worcester, wash away half its livestock, property and women, and send all those of its inhabitants who could get away in time scurrying for their lives northwards away from the marauders, to burrow into hiding wherever there was manor or priory, walled town or castle strong enough to afford them shelter.
Reserviert für d-vineland.

I remember that I did like the book, but I forgot about the details.
But I seem to remember one rule: Walking around in snow is dangerous.

Probably more of a winter read. Anyway, its nice to be inside, reading about ugly weather conditions without central heating.

Picked it up at the meet-up in Mainz, and was curious - are there any chronicles 1-5?

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Took some time to get me started with this book. For some reason unknown even to myself I took it to be Fantasy when I picked it up, so I didn't get what I expected, but that was no problem. Story and characters were pleasantly credible, but the plot took some time to "get going". The book did not "suck me in" as much as might be hoped. Which is not to say it was a bad book, but there are better.
I hope it finds a new reader!
