Journal Entry 1 by WeeMadHenry from Somerton, Somerset United Kingdom on Saturday, July 07, 2007
I think I need a quiet holiday to tackle this one (and some secondary literature). There are intricate family trees to be followed with unfamiliar names , a long timeline of events and it's about a country I know nothing about!

A beautifully written account of 20th century China. It gives insight into a different culture, people''s perceptions and conventions and a completely different way of thinking and self-image. Fascinating. I''ve sent the book on to Ardachy August 2007.
