Bought at "East of Eden", my local second-hand English bookshop, solely for release via BookCrossing.

"Chamber of Secrets" is one of the most exciting among the Potter novels, IMHO perhaps the most exciting one (up to the sixth book, at least), but also the (to me) scariest one because I abhor snakes and spiders. *shudders* I'm also not a fan of this Lockhart character (to say the least) or of Dobby (at least in this book), but the more often I reread it, the more I'm getting to see the funniness of this egocentric braggard.

I also thought the famous car ride desperately stupid, and I'm always disappointed when Harry misses the sorting song, but of course it all had a purpose in the end.

This particular copy has a personal note inside it (which is the reason why I picked it rather than one of the three or four likepriced copies):

To darling Iggy,
well done in your exams in school & music.
Love Nannie & Mike. xxxx

Er, yeah, lots of guesswork involved there. I'm not sure at all about any of the names, for example.

In the back of the book there's the usual media acclaim (which is fun to read if you like the book), but also some children's letters which are even better (all spelling mistakes kept, names abbreviated).

Dear Ms. Rowling
My name is Fiona C. and Iam nine years old.
I really like the book Harry Potter. My class and I are reading it as a novel. I think all the class are enjoying it to but the only thing wrong with it is that you can't put it down.

Dear J.K. Rowling
I really enjoyed your book Harry potter and the philosophers stone. I know it all off by heart as I am reading it for the first fourth time now. Please could you tell me when your next Harry Potter book is coming out as I so want to read it.
Danial H.

Dear J.K. Rowling,
I am writing to you to wish you luck in the Guardian children's fiction competition. Harry Potter and the Philosophers stone is the best book I have ever read. I gave it to all of my friends for Christmas. I am looking foward to reading your new book.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

RELEASE NOTES:

I got in at "Storkower Straße", let the S85 pass and then was annoyed when the Ringbahn proved to be much fuller. Luckily a man sitting close to where I was standing got up for "Frankfurter Allee", thus vacating a bench, so I dropped the book there when I got out after him. Yes, it was in plain sight of the guy sitting opposite (though he looked half asleep) and the passengers sitting near-by, but I didn't have much choice. Still hate releasing books publicly, but not as much as I used to... :p

CONGRATULATIONS!

You've found a wandering book! Please leave a short (or not so short ;) ) journal entry, so I know that the book's well and safe in your hands. For example, you could write where you found it, how you like it, or what you are planning to do with it.

Thanks a lot!
erinacea

PS: While I enjoy writing these texts in English, there's no obligation for you to do the same. If you like, you could make an entry in German, or whatever your mothertongue may be.
(Einträge auf deutsch sind auch erlaubt. ;) )
