Thanks to skcreader! I will try to read the series in alphabetical order, so it'll be some time till I get started on this one.

This book is earmarked for Muffin77

The 6th Kinsey Millhone mystery, and Grafton is getting better book by book. Again, I could figure out who was really responsible for the crimes before the end, but nonetheless, it's been worth the read.

F arrived with me sometime during the last week. I have had computer issues (crashed, and I lost an essay :( ) and have only just got to journal it today.
Thanks heaps Muffin77.
I am on the bookring for D and E, which is headed to Australia shortly, and will read this one after those, so that I can attempt to read this series in order!

I agree that these books in the series seem to get better and better with each installment. Not too much dwelling on the previous stories, and those funny throw away lines out of the blue are hilarious.

I hadn't worked out the mystery, although I did have many theories going as I was reading! I like the way Grafton keeps the pace moving, and how she reveals the details as Kinsey seems to stumble across them.

And we learn more about the character each time, which gives depth and life to our lovable heroin.

Well I certainly didn't pick the killer in this one!! I was guessing out of 2 other people! Anyway I really enjoyed this one, I agree with others that they seem to be getting better the further through the alphabet we get. They are still quick reads which is great, read this one over the weekend and will get on to G sometime this week before sending them both on to FushMush...

F is for Fabulous! These novels are getting better with each letter. I really enjoyed this one and I found it very hard to put down. With only 100 pages to go, I considered cancelling lunch with a friend just so I could read on my lunch break (I didn't though, I'm not that sad *G*).

I didn't pick the baddie until very late in the piece. There were so many dodgy, corrupt and vile characters to choose from. I think a lot of people contributed to Jean Timberlake's death. She was neglected, abused and exploited... poor girl (profund fushie!)

Rcd last night from fushmush! Thank you kindly! Hrm can I finish it before weekend to hand over to skyring personally at conference? I also have another book to finish by weekend and I am not commuting by train as much!

Your challenge - should you choose to accept it (sigh and I have a few other books on the go too!) oh well

I bravely tried to finish this in time to hand to skyring personally at the conference but I didn't quite make it and I am glad I took my time reading it.

I picked the murderer and then I dismissed them for I couldn't quite put all pieces together and I started suspecting other people.

Oh well good read - and poor Kinsey in danger and injured again! and those dead bodies! when can she have a nice safe case?

Bookfrog tortured me with this book. Held it before my gaze in Sydney as we were stuffing ourselves with yum cha and laughed at me. You can't have it, she snickered, not yet, nya nyah!!

And I was fresh out of books to read too.

Well, not really. I'm sure that my bag was heavier going back to Canberra than when I arrived, and Mount Toobee has reached alarming heights, stacked with wonderful books.

And would you believe it, I got G for Gumshoe in the same package - Frog, you've been holding out on me - not to mention R for Ricochet in a package from Read St Books, to join Q for Admission from the same source.

It may very well be a Kinsey Millhone weekend for Pete so as to get something off to poor tantan waiting in Gympie and scanning her letterbox dolefully.

And Lord, but look how many famous Bookcrossers have read this! I shall refrain from reading it in the shower, despite all temptation.

Oooh, but this one's as full of twists as a corkscrew. Kinsey travels outside her comfort zone to Floral Beach and finds it decidely uncomfortable. It took me a while to pin down the bad guy here, but in hindsight there were some pretty heavy hints dropped

I find I've been holding out on D and E - tantan gets a Christmas bonus.

Another wonderful installment in the Kinsey Millhone books. I didn't pick the murderer, as usual - I never can! I love joining Kinsey on the ride, though, and stumbling across the clues as she does. I'm enjoying these more and more with each I receive. This will be heading off to luckaye in the next few days.

Well, this one was a bit unexpected! But not unwanted. :)

I do have a stack of Grafton alphabet books to read already, but this is before all of those, so I shall get onto it first. Still, don't hold your breath waiting...

Thanks very much, crystalclear, for passing this one along!

8 out of 10

I did finish this a few days ago, but have been flat out ever since, so now can't quite remember what I wanted to say! I did enjoy it (it's been a while since I read a Kinsey Milhone, and I think I missed her rather), and I thought it was pretty classic Kinsey. I didn't guess whodunnit until it was completely obvious, although there was a major clue early on that I *knew* was important, but I wasn't given enough breathing room to use it to work out what was happening - Sue Grafton really writes page turners!

Strange having this one away from her usual stomping ground - I rather missed Henry and Rosie's.

Ravenbear has already read this one, and I've got groovyjoss's address so I shall pop this in the post on Monday. Thanks everyone for passing this one on to me!

UPDATE 20 Feb 2008: And popped in the post to groovyjoss yesterday. Happy reading!

I didn't realise these kinsey bookrings were still going around! It was nice to read one after some break. I didn't pick the killer until the end which was nice (although I should have got the hints).
I will send this on to puppymummy if she is still interested.
