"14 year old Ella is a typical unhappy teenager. Bullied at school, misunderstood by her family, she just wants to be accepted. But Ella has one thing most teenagers don't: paranormal powers. Ella doesn't know how she moves things without touching them, or even that she's doing it, but she's about to discover that this is only the beginning of her extraordinary gifts - gifts that can be used for good or evil."

This book reminded me of Matilda (Roald Dahl) but blacker, and also a bit reminiscent of Carrie (Stephen King) in the destruction she causes when stressed. This book is also about the corruption of others seeking to benefit from power and the paranormal. Enjoyable and a page turner - recommended.
