I have the paperback and I wanted to get the Audio version for a friend that is vision impaired, he has finished with it now.

I enjoyed the book, however my high opinion of Lance Armstrong went down many notches with the way he behaved with his wife, he came across as a bit of an arrogant prick, but I still think his journey to recovery was truly well done, maybe with out his arrogant attitude, the miracle cure would never have happened, I believe that the mind and the attitude to overcome anything has a very high power.

This has been sent to the winner of the happy smile day rabck hosted by frangipani08, Crimson-tide I saw it on your wishlist, I also have the paperback version as well but unfortunately I would end up divorced if hubby saw I sent that one out! - I hope you enjoy the CD and the story.

Wow, another one from my wish list - I am such a lucky, lucky little BookCrosser!! Thank you so much luckdipper. I was talking to a friend only this morning about this book as we were cycling through the early morning mists beside the Blackwood River. Boy, was it cold! And what superb timing too, as the Tour de France has just begun.

I love audiobooks. I'll get to this one pretty soon I reckon as the back orchard looks like it needs mowing in the not too distant future.
Thanks again.

This is a great story of strength, determination and hope. Being an abridged version, of course you never know exactly what you're missing! I think perhaps the bit you mentioned luckydipper, about "the way he behaved with his wife" was perhaps not given as much emphasis in the audio as in the book? I gather you mean about the time when they were living in France and he just gave up and dragged her back to Texas and behaved like a slob? It wasn't totally ignored, but was sort of explained away.

Yep, I agree he was/is a very arrogant man and is used to getting his own way - that does come through; and that aspect I also did not like about him. He is also very determined and dedicated and prepared to work incredibly hard to achieve a goal if he wants it enough. It certainly does help to be like that if you are fighting something as aggressive as cancer, but you don't have to be arrogant along with it. And unfortunately many very positive, determined and dedicated people also succumb to the disease.

At least he admits he is a better man for the experience, so that's a plus!

Thanks again for this one, luckydipper.
