Received today...thank you so much. I'm looking forward to reading this as it contains stories from some of my favourite authors.
Journal Entry 4 by Plum-crazy from Brighouse, West Yorkshire United Kingdom on Sunday, September 16, 2007
Well hendertuckian you hit the nail on the head with this one - it was perfect for a soak in the tub....& with it being short stories it was easy to put down & pick up again a couple of days later without losing the thread.
I'd read Marian Keyes' "The truth is out there" in "Further under the duvet" & Sophie Kinsella's "Changing People" seemed very familiar but all the other tales were new to me.
I too, particulary enjoyed "Cat Lady" by Alisa Valdes- Rodriguez (an author new to me). Also "Party Planner" by Meg Cabot & "Know it all" by Sarah Mlynowski.
I even read the adverts at the back of the book & found a few books to add to my wishlist!

With the help of Cliffs wishlist & RABCK.com I've found someone who just might enjoy this book....
The book arrived today. Thank you! It was a great surprise :-)
The book seems perfect to read between others, because of the short stories. So I think I'll begin reading it today.

I read the first story yesterday and decided to start my JE about the book now, because otherwise I'll probably have forgotten what I thought about the first stories when reaching the end of the book ;-)
Party Planner - Meg Cabot: I liked the email-style of the story. I remember reading one novel that was written in this style and I liked it back then as well. I don't want to say too much about the storyline, only so much: I like the ending.
Traveling Light - Carole Matthews: Was okay.
Cat Lady - Alisa Valdes-Rodriguez: Was okay. I liked it slightly better than the previous story.
Changing People - Sophie Kinsella: Sophie Kinsella is one of my favourite authors, so I was looking forward to this story. I liked it very much, it's funny. So far for me it is the best story in this book.
New York - Jill A. Davis: I didn't like this one at all.
Revenge - Emily Barr: Not my taste. But probably quite good if you like serious short stories.
Here Comes Harry - Jessica Adams: I didn't like this one.
From this moment - Megan McCafferty: This one is nice, I like it.
I guess I've had wrong expectations about the book. I thought it would be more like chick-lit, but actually it's more serious...
I'll edit this JE (hopefully) every time I have something to say...

I haven't read any more stories for 1 year or so. That's why I finally decided to abandon the book now. I hope I can find a reader who will appreciate it more than me...
This book will either go to Tiamat-muc as a RABCK or become a ray, if more people are interested. In case of a Ray, Tiamat-muc will be the last participant.

It was neither fish nor flesh (if you allow me this little peace of English for runaways ;)) - a few stories were nice, but Kinsella's was the only one really warming my heart. The rest ... is silence
