Please don't let the number of books dip below 10. In order to keep the contents varied, there will be a limit on the number of books from each country - 2 as a maximum. It would be lovely if each book was from a different place, but that could slow up the box. I hope to have about 10 participants. When you receive the box, journal it with the BCID, which is on the inside of the lid. Please replace the books you take out with other Asia-themed books and pass the box on in about 2-4 weeks. This will be in the post to Janey-Liz tomorrow, but I foolishly took another look and have decided to take out Anita and Me as well. I picked up a copy of this book a while back and wild released it before I read it, which was very foolish of me. Now I have another chance. I'm replacing it with Arranged Marriage by Chita Banerjee Divakaruni

WOW This is the best book box I have ever received. They are all too often full of old tat that barely fit the theme, but this was packed with really terrific books! Good job everyone! There are 9 in the box, I am taking 5 and of the remaining 4 I have already read 3 so there was only 1 I didn''t particularly fancy. Thanks for sharing everyone. Jude x Taking out Gabriels Gift An Equal music The mango season For Matrimonial Purposes Mr. Foreigner Will journal with my replacements shorty.

Confessions of a bad bookcrosser; When I came to finding my replacements for the book box I discovered that I was incapable of letting many of my Asian books go. They form the backbone of my personal collection, particularly those set in Tibet a place I have visited several times and for which I have a deep and burning passion. But the book box which was the highlight of my month so far deserves replenishing with some good reads, and hey we all need a little good karma, so although 7 years in Tibet and The Glass Palace did not make it in (sorry), I hope that the next person enjoys some of these; Autobiography of a Geisha What I Loved Travels on my Elephant Arranged Marriage Red Dust Thanks again everyone, should get it moving again this week. Woohoo! Great end to a long week at work. The box has arrived with a lot of good books: Empress Orchid: Anchee Min Shanghai Tango: Jin Xing Silk: Alessandro Baricco Memoirs of a Geisha: Arthur Golden Norwegian Wood: Haruki Murakami Plain Tales from the Hills: Kipling The Coroner's Lunch: Colin Cotterill Sour Sweet: Timothy Mo Binu and the Great Wall of China: Su Tong The Age of Kali: William Dalrymple House of the Sleeping Beauties: Kawabata Heat and Dust: Ruth Prawer Jhabvala The City of Joy: Dominque Lapierre Thanks all for taking part. I will be sending this out again soonish (just need to read some more books!). After an interesting exchange of PMs with Fellraven, there will be an extra rule to the bookbox - a limit of the number of books from the big 3: China, India and Japan. This is to make the box more interesting. Fellraven has started an interesting forum thread asking for book recommendations from other Asian countries. Hope that this won't discourage you from taking part again. Here is the link to the forum thread: http://www.bookcrossing.com/forum/6/5512542
