The fourth Dark Tower book. Roland and his band of followers ride the evil monorail Blaine across the Waste Lands, asking Blaine riddles. If they can ask him one he can't answer before they arrive at their destination, they will escape with their lives, but if not, Blaine will commit suicide and take them with him. After they escape from Blaine, they wander the ghost town of Topeka, destroyed by a plague, searching for a way back to the Beam so they can continue on their quest for the Tower. Along the way, Roland tells the tale of his lost love Susan, and of his gunslinger friends Cuthbert and Alain.
A good book, but not the end of the series. I hope the next one comes out soon.
I got this book from my uncle, who had a bunch of books he was giving away, many by Stephen King. I plan to pass it on to someone else, or maybe donate it to the library.
