Journal Entry 1 by hobbit from Surabaya, Jawa Timur Indonesia on Thursday, June 07, 2007
This "Best Seller Classics" edition is a paperback with a faux leather cover and no ISBN number or printing date anywhere that I could find. The pages are yellowing and its original price was 50 cents, so clearly it's been around for a while. My mother bought it at a yard sale for my son, who's now a teenager and uninterested in keeping it.

Journal Entry 3 by LyonsFerocious from Denver, Colorado USA on Saturday, June 30, 2007
I found this book on a bench outside the Oregon Convention Center. I was attending the General Assembly of the Unitarian Universalist Association, and had in fact just finished the book I brought. Despite the fact that I have seen the original film countless times, and once had a strange nightmare about the more recent film ("Return to Oz") - I had never read the book. Like most folks of my generation, I found it difficult not to compare the book to the movie, which lives like legend in my head. I imagine the book will end up on a bench or other conspicuous place somewhere in Denver, my hometown. The book travelled with me from Portland, to Seattle to San Francisco, and now we're both back in the queen city of the plains.
