I received this maybe 3 or 4 days ago, but I've been so overwhelmed with work, I haven't been able to log in to BC. Sorry for that.
I'm really, really glad for this one: I make 100Kms to go to work, 2 days per week, so it is a blessing to have a book that is read out loud to me while driving. I guess this one will be out of my TBR pile quite soon!
This is one of the 4libros' 9000 releases' celebration RABCK draw package!
Thank you so much for it and for your wonderful example as a true BC's spirit follower.

It is difficult for me to clearly distinguish how much I would like this one if I had read it, instead of listening to it. It gave me some 2 wonderful trips to work today and last week, made me relax a bit and not keep thinking about what I had waiting there for me.
But I guess that was mostly why I liked it, because it ends being “just” a love story... I was expecting for something more like “The Bridges of Madison County” which, in my opinion, is a bit more than that, really...
Slow Waltz in Cedar Bend is also about a middle aged couple, discovering each other when they no longer expected to find anyone, but... it could have been about a younger couple and be exactly the same. I think it lacks that having-to-weight-everything-down thing, before deciding to follow instinct or desire or whatever...
Anyhow, I loved listening to it, and thought it funny to find a reference to the photographs of Robert Kinkaid in the middle of it. ;-)
Thank you once more, 4Libros.
I’ll start an audiobookray with this one now.

By the way... a synopsis:
"Jellie Braden is a luminescent free spirit caught in a passionless marriage. Michael Tillman is a lone and restless rider of life on old motorcycles. From the moment they meet, Michael is attracted to Jellie Braden in a vague but powerful way that slowly changes both his life and hers. And when she disappears from his life, chasing her own secrets, not even continents and oceans can keep him from her side. A story that speaks to our own dreams and a saga that awakens our sense of untapped possibilities, Slow Waltz in Cedar Bend tells us the feelings we long for are genuine...and better still, the chance we will find them is real."

Good reflective novel although there were no surprises. I love the deadpan style of reading used by the author and time passed quickly while the tape played, which must be a good sign.
I posted the cassettes to Smurphie this afternoon.

Oh, it is a ray! I first thought it was a Christmas RABCK and was confused with the three postcards and different names on them. Guess I should have journaled it right away!:-)
As this audiobook is on tape and I can only listen to tapes in my car I guess I will get to it quite quickly. Just have to finish the one I am listening to right now...
Thanks for sending it, kobie! Thanks for the ray and the postcards, smurphie! I will send them on and will surely send one to you as well!

Listened to this in my car during the last two weeks and it was quite a nice story. I liked the authors voice and he read well. Thanks for letting me join, Smurphie!
The audiobook will now be on its way to madmadge! Happy Holidays everyone!

Arrived in the post today - my very first audiobook. Thank you for including me in the ray Smurphie and to bluecat07 for sending it on to me (I loved the pussy cat postcard). It will be perfect to listen to while I am packing up to move and then I will pass it on in a further ray after I've moved on 24th January 08!
I've kept this on my shelf for far too long and I've only listened to side one! I'm sorry but audiobooks are not for me. I much prefer the printed page and I just didn't seem to find the time to listen to this one and do it justice. I am offering it on the Wish List Forum - first come, first served - so it can continue its journey.
Got it today, thanks madmadge.
This one has certainly travelled around and after I'm done listening it'll keep travelling
