Journal Entry 1 by dodau from Ellesmere Port, Cheshire United Kingdom on Sunday, May 27, 2007
Dup copy I'd read of good reviews of this new crime/thriller writer and thought I'd give her first book a go and I wasn't disappointed. An excellent debut book and I'm sure the following books will be just as good if not better. The story was murderously gripping from the start and the puzzle of the murder made you want to quickly continue through the book. It was very graphic in the description of the murders and the following autopsies which makes excellent reading - loads of blood and gore! The only down side that irritated me slightly was that nearly all the characters seemed to be very bad tempered, angry people that flared up for little or no apparent reason. By A. Rose

A very good first book, I was a little disappointed that I spotted ‘who dunnit’ early on, I usually prefer it to be more difficult and perhaps more ambiguous, that said, ‘the why’ wasn’t as obvious and made for a good read. Would be happy to read more by Karin Slaughter, I really hope that is a nom de plume, couldn’t imagine living with it.

Journal Entry 5 by microsquid from Cobh, Co. Cork Ireland on Monday, April 21, 2008
Picked up despite my best intentions at the 2008 Bookcrossing Anniversary Convention in London. I picked this one up for my SIL, who adored Kisscut, I've already read it on Beckydore's ring and loved it. I robbed 20 books in total. I am weak. WEAK! Lovely to see you all – Microsquid the endlessly opinionated.
