The Corrections is a grandly entertaining novel for the new century- a comic, tragic masterpiece about a family breaking down in an age of easy fixes.

I finally got around to reading this book, and really enjoyed it (as much as it's possible to really enjoy reading about a family falling apart.) I appreciated the writing style, wry humour & unexpectedness of events. It is a tribute to the resilience of families somehow surviving against all odds.
A couple of long train journeys helped me polish off this excellent novel quickly, otherwise I would've found it hard returning frequently to endless scenes of self-destruction. Next up, I'm definitely in need of a light & fluffy read!
