In truth, I did try to read this. However, I lost interest in the first few pages.

Thank you so very much for this book of Australian writer. Let's see how I find this kind of scifi.

"From the chaotic opening of the twenty-first century she was hurled through time - to a place where reality was built on fantasies and drugs prevented aging.
There, thousands of years in the future, she received a hero´s welcome: she was history's first genuine time-traveller.
That is why she had to be killed..."

This was intensive and hypnotic, and weird reading experience. First two chapters were not so good, but after I got further I couldn't stop before reaching the mid of the book. And the meaning for the name of the book was revealed just near the end. The style tried to be scientific, and I think the idea was to break the conventional thinking paths about time.

This book was reserved in Finnish BookXerpting called 'Salasaparot' ('secret pig tails'), the name of which can be originated to Finnish idiom 'take a pig in sack' which means 'taking something without knowing about it in advance'.
Perdue has selected this 'piggy' by the exerpt of the first page of this book. Wishing this will be happy surprise and happy reading!

Thank you, Aspen! The book arrived today. It completely surprised me, starting from the premise, the genre and even the author's gender. For some reason I presumed by the first page that it was a Fay Weldon style of novel in which a woman searches for her place in society (and breaks rules by her behavior), but instead it seems to be science fiction!
This is not to say that I would be disappointed, I'm just amazed by my own presumptions. This clearly means I have to read outside the genre, and science fiction is something I've wanted to get my hands into but somehow have managed not to.
