Eco is always interesting layer and here is a book that functions on different levels. It is sett in todays Italy but moves through time and popular iconography. The main character has suffered a stroke and with it memory of all that is near and dear. By exploring the extraneous world of films, comic books, records and diaries his memory slowly revives to come to his first love. If you like popular culture form the 30s to the 70s, you will love the illustrations that fill this book. There are a few parts i struggled to get through but the his language is always a joy and its is worth the struggle.
