This is my absolute favorite V.C. Andrews book, and, coincidentally, the only one which is not in a series (perhaps that's why I like it so much). I believe that most, if not all, of the story was taken from her notes left after she had died. The ghostwriter responsible for writing most of the newer books, therefore, had little of his own hand in this one (which makes it better). For more thoughts on V.C. I've picked up another Virginia Andrews book to read a couple of times, but it's just not my thing. Having been a Virginia Andrews fan in my teenage years, I think those years years are now behind me.

I am therefore removing this book (and 2 others I have) from Mt TBR to continue their BookCrossing adventure.
