A very cool Original Series Trek story. It can be read as a stand alone novel, which I wasn't expecting. Diane Carey writes very descriptive high-action with a lot of tech. I liked that non-command crew members took some of the centre stage in this story - the characterisation were all very well done.

New favourite catch-phrase: "You are the Kirk!" Gotta get that into conversation one day!

General storyline is that a bunch of new aliens come into Klingon/Federation space claiming that they were evicted from the area five thousand years before. They have a VERY BIG and powerful ship and a story which coincides with history from Earth and other planets. Could they really the demons of myth and legend?
