From the blurb: "The letter arrived, I remember, at breakfast. It was a local letter with a typewritten address. I opened it before the two with London postmarks. Inside, printed words and letters had been cut out and gummed to a sheet of paper. For a minute or two I stared at the words without taking them in. Then I gasped..."
This one's a Miss Marple book, but she's barely in it. You might have seen the recent BBC production, but personally I think the book is better (but then I always think that about adaptations from books if I've read the book first), as on screen the dialogue of one of the female characters became much less dark, and consequently less interesting. They also added in an extra murder that didn't add anything to the plot.
Back to the book... I enjoyed this one, as I've enjoyed them all so far. I hope whoever reads it next does too.
