I did love this book at one point, and I loaned it out to a few people who didn't love it as much as I did. Ahh well.. to each their own. My clear out space so must give up book.

This book is up for grabs... and it looks very well read.

Recieved a few weeks ago but then went away on business..then on vacation for a week. Anyway...THEN I realised I have a copy of this, unread as yet, on my TBR shelf...so I will re-release this or pass on to another bookcrosser.

Thanks Wanda!

Although I didn't actually read THIS copy of this book, I wanted to copy my journal entry from the copy I did read, because I enjoyed it so much!

I read this on a weekend trip to Savannah. Here are the notes I made for the book I released there.

"I realised once I arrived here that bringing this book to Savannah is bit like coals to Newcastle...but I started reading it on my flight down and finished it while waiting for a tour trolley outside the Hyatt on Bay St. this morning. I left the book on Trolley 920 of the Old Savannah Tours - the white trolleys. Our wonderful tour guide was Kim, funny and knowledgable lady. Thanks Kim!!!

As I got off the trolley at City Market, two very nice gentlemen told me I forgot my book - I shamelessly lied and said it wasn't mine :) So I hope one of them takew it home.

I loved this story. I took the trolley tour yesterday when I was about half way thru the book and it made the book come alive for me to see the Mercer House, the Colonial Cemetary and all the squares of Savannah. I've had 2 wonderful days in Savannah and no where near enough time to see all everything. River Street is incredible, the parks are lovely and clean, the houses are amazing works of art in themselves and the people are extremely friendly.

I found this cafe, Boba's in City Market and enjoying some lunch before I head back on the trolley to River Street to do some shopping.

I've had a wonderful time in Savannah. Hope whoever finds the book does too!"

I also just watched the movie for the first time tonight and as charming and entertaining and talented as John Cusack and Kevin Spacey are, the magic of the book was missing. I also expected to see more of Savannah in the movie, and it was disappointing that I didn't. The movie was fun and interesting..but nowhere near as good as fulfilling or satisfying as the book; lots of parts were left out..it was like Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil for Dummies.

Well well! I picked up the book on the plane...I'm crew with the airline, made an announcement, thinking someone left it by mistake. Nobody claimed it, so I took it back with me on the return flight to Toronto...only to find out that's where it came from! Too funny. I do plan to read the book...and then perhaps take it to some other far away land on another flight out :)
