Jeremy Clarkson has seen rather more of the world than most. He has, as they say, been around a bit. And as a result, he's got one or two things to tell us about how it works - and being Jeremy Clarkson he's not about to voice them quietly, humbly and without great dollops of humour.

In The World According To Clarkson, he reveals why it is that:

- too much science is bad for our health
- '70s rock music is nothing to be ashamed of
- hunting foxes while drunk and wearing night-sights is neither big nor clever
- we must work harder to get rid of cricket
- he likes the Germans (well, sometimes)

With a strong dose of common sense that is rarely, if ever, found inside the M25, Clarkson hilariously attacks the pompous, the ridiculous, the absurd and the downright idiotic ideas, people and institutions that we all have to put up with at home and abroad, whilst also celebrating the eccentric, the clever and the sheer bloody billiant.

Less a manifesto for living and more a road map to modern life, The World According To Clarkson is the funniest book you'll read this year. Don't leave home without it.

I have to say - I loved this book!! I'm a big Jeremy Clarkson fan and I love the way he doesn't believe in being subtle - he tells you exactly what he thinks. This book is all his articles written for the newspaper (Can't remember which one it is he writes for right now! Oops!) and there's a random mix of topics but each commentary is as funny as the last - if not even funnier! I love this guy! LOL!

In a way, I kind of wish I was keeping hold of this but it's been promised to alkaline-kiwi so away it'll go!! At least I know he'll be going to a good home! From the sounds of it - he'll be much loved when he gets there!

I've already leant this to my mum and she loved it, and I think my sister wants to read it too before I post it off but it shouldn't be long before it's on it's way to New Zealand!

Was very happy to get this today.

I love watching Top Gear (even though I'm not that interested in cars) so was looking forward to reading this. Thanks heaps fairy-dust!

I took this on holiday with me to Greymouth and then once I started reading it misplaced it, finally finding it down the side of the bed.

I was expecting this book to be funnier though I did enjoy it. Clarkson amuses me and I do like how he doesn't sugarcoat his opinions (some of the columns I think might of had angry readers sending him mail) even though I do not agree with everything he has to say.

I have a couple of other Clarkson books TBR, undecided what I will do with this book next. Might take it along to Tuesday's meetup though I think earok said he was interested in reading it.

Funny story. Haven't found a book in awhile.. and have only found one or two since I've been on bookcrossing. Went to the dentist the afternoon, was digging through their magazine basket and saw a book spine. Thought.. that's strange, pull it out and low and behold it's a BC book. [: Rather chuffed I keep searching for a magazine to read and pull out ANOTHER BC book. Never had an accidental find, so two in a row made my trip to the dentist very worthwhile!
