I've outgrown the Magic Shop series so I'm not sure why I keep picking it up. I really liked Jeremy Thatcher, Dragon Hatcher and it's still a book I love to read, so maybe I just keep hoping one of the other books will be just as good.
So far, no dice.

The concept of the book is interesting. Helen of Troy's amulet gives Juliet the power of attraction, the chaos created feeding Eris, goddess of chaos and destruction, while Artemis, Hera and Aphrodite can only look on. Cupid is a prisoner of the locket but wants to be freed so he can finally be reunited with Psyche.
See? Sounds neat.
But the execution is weak, or maybe Juliet just isn't a strong enough character to carry out the will of all these Greek gods and goddesses. She is shy - painfully so - and just can't capture attention.
