Say When
9 journalers for this copy...
I loved this book Really easy to read and I couldn't put it down. It was interesting to read about a relationship from a male stance. I will be on the look out for other books by this author.

Given this book by a friend as the beginning of a bookray. Have just begun reading it.
At the beginning the best thing about the book was the shoes on the front cover (I want a pair!) Initially I found the main characters very selfish and self absorbed. I could not find any sympathy or care for either of them. As the book progressed it got better. It was interesting to hear about separation from the male point of view. The ending was as it should have been and not dragged out.
I would like to read more from this author. As I think I found Say When difficult because I have very little experience with the subject matter so probably found it difficult to relate to.
Will be sending to cross-patch in the next few days.
Thank you musicgirl4 and zepplin, the book has arrived safely. Me too, I love the cover - there's something about red shoes! I've only read one Elizabeth Berg, The Year of Pleasures, and it was very good, so I'm looking forward to this one.
I agree with Zepplin's JE. I loved A year of Pleasures but this book didn't reach that standard, although there was a germ of it. Griffin and Ellen did grow as characters and I enjoyed the FC interludes. I will read more Elizabeth Berg in the future.
I have contacted the next in line and am waiting for an address.
2 July. Posted today...hopefully a window in the Postal strikes!
book arrived safely today. I do have a few more rings/rays to read in front of this one but will get to it asap. Why do all the books arrive at once? Anyway this looks like a very good read, looking forward to it.

I was a bit dissapointed with this story, I think because I have been lucky not to have experienced a break up of a marriage or had many friends that have. I thought the characters a bit childish in there reactions to the situation and also reading about Christmas while on holiday in Mallorca it just did not feel right!! Will get this in the post as soon as I have Invers address

RELEASE NOTES:
passed in person to Inver - next in line for this title.
Picked up by hand from Pennydainty (who is lovely) at children's library in Aberdeen. We had a fine chat. May take me a while to get to this as have three more books before this one. Will get to it as soon as I can.
12/10/07 Two books before I get to this one.
25/10/07 Nearly finished this one will get it moving on again soon.
Well I read the book cover to cover but what was on each page was just words. I can't say I got much out of this story, maybe that is a bit unkind, but Ellen began to annoy me. I guess not having been in the situation she found herself in I can't empathise with her. I felt the most sorry for Zoe, the wee girl. I liked her innocence throughout the situation and how she made lots of sense and made her parents think about what they were doing. My first book of this author, but I won't let it put me off maybe reading another. Thanks for letting me take part in the bookring Musicgirl. Have jacksmum2004 address and will be sending it off today.

Sending on to next person in the ring.
arrived safely today. will get onto this one when i have finished my current read (which is flying past, lol)
Thanks very much :D
Have finally finished! Sorry it took so long, lots going on here.
This was a good read, but i thought i sort of lacked story. I didnt feel the characters, and there wasnt much going on. It was interesting to have a man's version of events, but to be honest this was not a particularly great read. But im no book critic, so what do i know, lol!
Off to PM the next in line....

RELEASE NOTES:
posted today to the next on the list, enjoy!
Arrived today. Got a few rings before this one so had better get cracking ;)
I was a tad indifferent with this one mainly for the reasons listed in previous journal entries. It was a fairly quick read and it's always good to try new authors and types I probably wouldn't choose for myself. Thanks for sharing.
This book was posted to dutchbooky today.
This arrived earlier this week (thanks brunton11). I started reading right away and thought it was rather familiar.... Last year I took this home from the library and when brunton11 PM-ed me, I forgot all about having read it!
I enjoyed the story, but I do not think it is one of Berg's best novels. It will travel on as soon as I have an address Bokwormy! Thanks for sharing this musicgirl4.
