A fictional Roman Empire, around today, 1600 years after the actual Roman Empire ceased to exist. The heir to the throne gets lost amidst some conspiracies, hides among fugitive slaves, and in the end everything circles around abolition of slavery.
The story's rotten, but beautifully written and entertaining to read on a 12-h-flight.
