Leaving on BART in San Francisco.
Wow! Um...I'm at a loss for words (but not really) for how unbelievably cool finding this book was this morning. I spotted it sitting casually next to a McDonald's coffee cup on a railing at the 24th Street and Mission BART station and recognized the cover immediately. I've read it before and it's been on my long list of books to obtain and read again...someday. There were several people standing near enough to it that it seemed it might belong to one of them, so I restrained my urge to snatch it up and instead surreptitiously posted myself within arms reach, observing the other pedestrians to see if they showed any signs of ownership. Nothing. I waited for a few trains to come and go– still no one seemed to belong to the book... Finally I could not resist any longer and I took the plunge and reached over and grabbed it feeling victorious and greedy, half expecting a cranky, caffeine, deprived commuter to intercept my efforts and claim the book (and the McDonald's coffee cup) at the last minute. And lo! I instantly found the Book Crossing sticker on the inside corner and realized that I was in the clear and caught in the web of some mad brilliance. The book belonged to no one and everyone and me! Very cool idea. Totally made me laugh out loud. Y'all are brilliant. The world is brighter and and better read for your efforts. I'm 27 pages in and looking forward to sending it on for further adventures when I am done. (The binding lost a little glue, so I might need to give it some elmer's first aid before I release it. Thank you.

The book is still a ten. I chewed threw it in about a week and loved every page. I'm sad now that the journey is over. Piercy is a true visionary, fabulous storyteller, socially and politically insightful. Sci-fi, especially feminist sci-fi is near and dear to my heart.
I have a couple reader/friend/co-workers in line for the book and I'm gonna sneak it into my friend M's bag tonight and say goodbye. But, for a little while it seems, He She and It is gonna kick it around San Francisco.
Now, a little glue for the binding...

my friend and i cheated a little with this book. she delightedly found it at bart, probably explained in an entry already, and handed it off to me. i have decided to release 'he, she and it' and buy my own copy so i can keep it in this geographic region for a while.
such a lovely book. i couldn't put it down until it was through. i've been looking at my world differently with her fatalistic but hopeful vision of the future in mind.
thanks for releasing this book.
