Journal Entry 1 by roosii from Piacenza, Emilia Romagna Italy on Monday, February 03, 2003

This book has not been rated.

This diary is "book in progress"
written by anyone who gets it.
The idea of "running diaries" is from an italian bookcrosser (screename gcielo) who released 3 of them in Italy ("I pensieri dei bookcorsari #1, #2, #3") and they are still circulating.
An european version (EuroBookCrosser's Diary #1) recently followed them from Italy to Nederlands.
It was noticed from an american BCer (Mamikaem) who applied for an intercontinental one... and some BCers from Florence asked me to start this worldwide book!!! (with a "little" help from them :-D )
Next steps will be the February meet-up in Florence and USA after it...
Write on it anything you want and pass it on to some other bookcrosser, in your country or in another one (it could be nice if this diary could cross a borderline as often as possible)... and do not forget your journal entry.
Good writing and have a nice book.
Roosii

YEAHHH, IT'S HERE!!!!! I shrieked with delight when I opened my mailbox to find inside a package containing the WW BCer Diary #1!!! Roosi, you have made quite a nice little book! Waving to my new friends, Solimano, Gerardina, Florrie, Francesca, Emilia and of course, Marco, thank you for mailing this to me!

Gerardina, I am keeping the Toscana bookmark for myself and passing the postcards along with the diary. Grazie!

I've held on this too long, so off you go little diary! It's winging it's way to Canada to Lady-Sybil and her friends and then England after that! Happy travels!

Journal Entry 10 by lady-sybil from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory Australia on Friday, March 14, 2003

It's here! Yay! Thanks Mary Jo ... and everyone else who has already left messages in the diary ... I've scanned the messages quickly just after I ripped open the package and will read it at a more leasurely pace when I go to bed tonight.

Gerardina, the postcards are beautiful. I wish I could keep them (put them on my noticeboard with all the other postcard that I have received from my BX friends around the world) ... but I will first search for an equally beautiful local postcard to include with the diary before I do something like that!

I am going to organize an unofficial meetup with the Fredericton BookCrossers in honor of this diary (everyone was very excited about it when I told them it is on its way here), then I will send it on its way to jackshome in England.

Thanks Roosii for this wonderful opportunity and everyone else who has already made a contribution to this great project.

Journal Entry 11 by lady-sybil from Canberra, Australian Capital Territory Australia on Tuesday, April 08, 2003

This book has not been rated.

Now we are finally done with this diary. I organized a mini-meetup for the diary on the first day of spring (March 20) and celticheart, Jaguar, tirexl, lady-sybil, llyr and jlynnca wrote messages about spring, peace, Fredericton and greetings to fellow BookCrossers in the diary. Not everyone could make it to the unofficial meetup, so I kept the diary until today for the official monthly meetup.

Tonight Grorser celebrated their 100th book release with a note in the diary. PrincessO, Merlock and Goober also left greetings to fellow BookCrossers in the diary.

Now the diary has to be on its way, it has rested long enough here on the east coast of Canada and is ready for the onward journey. Tomorrow I will mail it to jackshome in England and who knows where it will travel then? I will make release notes, so that the diary will show up on the recently released pages ... that is how I found out about it when it was released to Mamikaem and maybe someone else, somewhere will spot the release and ask for it ....

Happy Travels! Lady-sybil.

Well, it's arrived! It looks an exciting book, with all sorts of things stuck inside. The first thing I noticed was the collection of BC stickers in all languages. I'm really glad I've decided to practise my language skills.
Now to find a quiet moment to sit down and write my entry, then send it on its way again.

9 out of 10

Truely a GREAT little project this is.. The diary is on its way to China, country number 6, continent number 3.. after that only some 188 more to go. I've been having a lot of requist of BC-people eager to take part so i guess i better make a list of them here, I'll included a list like this with the diary too so that people can be (rather) sure that they will get the diary if they are the list. So here goes:

chinesehuamulan (China)
Xana (Portugal)
Selfelf (Romania)
Sissyrun (USA)
benedictsisters (USA)
apricoco (USA)
siriradha (USA)
aaratnayake (USA)
....you?... (time for some other country i would say : )

To the people who feel that they are too low on this list, look at the bright side of things.. there are more then plenty of empty pages left in the diary (hunderds of them) and you will have more entries to read of all those wonderful people before you!! :P

Dutch greetings to all,
Lostnomad

(July 5)PS Dear all, the diary has been in the mail for almost a month now.. it should have reached china weeks ago but perhaps my friendly mailman deceided to bring it there on foot :(

(July 20)PPS Dear all, :'( I really have been very preceise in writing down the address.. and i used a strong envelope.. of course also wrote my own address clearly in the left top corner.. delivered it to the postoffice myself.. paid the stamps in full.. BUT its about 40 days since the diary is last seen of, I'm afraid its "AWOL" or worse.. I will be traveling for the next three weeks, if the diary is still lost by the time i get back i promise to launch a new one.. but a waste that would be.. really liked what everybody had writen so far..

This is really one of the best books available out there!
Este é realmente um dos melhores livros disponíveis que por aí existem!

I came across it during a BookCrossing unofficial meeting in Lisbon, Portugal, I am glad I got the chance to write down a few lines before it proceeds its course around the world and every BookCrosser's hands.

Great idea, really!
Grande ideia, mesmo!

Hope you get to read it and write it, just like I did! =)
Espero que venhas a lê-lo e a escrevê-lo, tal como eu o fiz! =)

Hi everyboby!

Hope the book travels to the entire world!

Hi everyone - I also had the privilege to sign this fantastic diary yesterday during our BC dinner at Govinda (a very good vegetarian restaurant in Oeiras, near Lisbon, if you ever happen to be near by ...) We left a card of the restaurant and the bill inside the diary, as a memory :-)
As I said, hopefully this diary will really travel all around the world, and maybe someday it will pass by Portugal again - I'd love to take a look at it when it's done.
A big hug to all of you...

Xana has been kind enough to share this Diary with bookcrossers round here, this diary has already gone to an informal (but big and noisy :) ) meeting and a dinner! You will be glad to know it was a perfect wonderful guest. And to try to share this with others, I scanned the written pages of the diary so far, here it is, new entries and all. If people downstream can do further scans of newer entries, please contact me so we can keep a digital copy of this diary for all of us! And if anybody can think of better ways to keep those images, please let me know your ideas.

And boa viagem to this diary, may it travel the globe safely!

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

RELEASE NOTES:

Released for the Book Crossers Meetup organizer for St. Louis area to find.

Health Problems kept me from getting this out earlier.

I am sorry for the delay in passing this on.

I have enjoyed reading it and seeing the travels it has made. The simple connections of all of us book lovers. For instance we have the local Govindan's restaurant here as well.

Blessings to all.

So cool! OK, so I know I'm technically not on the bookray list for this book. It was dropped off by benedictsisters at our Meet-up tonight. I guess we're going to do a mini-ring around St. Louis, with the book going to the next official person on the list when we're done.
I've had a great time reading the entries so far from China, Portugal, the Netherlands, and California, USA. I can't wait to contribute my little bit and see this passed on.

12/3/04: Well, I must admit that the responsibility of adding my 2 cents to this book really bore down on me. I finally did my part, though, and plan to send this on to the next person in the ray ASAP.

Mailed 12/3/04.
