Well, I remember this book caused some anxiety and running around the web reading Iraqi blogs. The best thing about it is that it sort of gives a voice, not to every Iraqi person, but at least someone living there. Because they're not them who get to speak in the media. (Okay, nobody's actually talking about Iraq any more but in the context of US elections, for the conflict seems to have gone out of fashion - even if it's now being worse than ever.)
The book is actually just a blog between covers, which made the reading experience somewhat weird. (If you don't want to go hunting, the blog can still be read here.)
