Journal Entry 1 by BellaMack from St Helens, Tasmania Australia on Thursday, April 19, 2007
The 'You've Gotta Read This Bookbag' :

. Australia Only

. Only include books which you have read and would recommend to another reader. The book doesn't have to be on a list of 'best of' or 'top 100' it just has to be a book which you have found to be well written, enjoyable or for whatever other reason you believe another bookcrosser would enjoy reading it.

. The books you include must be read and journalled prior to inclusion.

. Please keep the bookbag in your possession for no longer than two weeks before sending on to the next person on the list.

. Also please journal the bookbag when you receive it so that we can all keep track of where it is.

. I am listing the books which have been initially included and would really like you to list in your journal entry which books you have taken out and books you have placed in the bookbag. In this way we can all see the journey of the bookbag in more detail.

. Separately journal only those books you remove from the bag, and of course those you choose to place in the bag.

To begin the bookbag I am putting in these books:

1. The Flower Net, Lisa See
2. My Forbidden Face, Latifa
3. Demon of the Waters, Gregory Gibson
4. Affinity, Sarah Waters
5. Land of the Living, Nicci French
6. The Lovely Bones, Alice Sebold
7. Trace Evidence, Elizabeth Becka
8. The Historian, Elizabeth Kostova

I'm hoping this is a selection of books with something to appeal to everyone.

Journal Entry 20 by freelunch from Cairns, Queensland Australia on Thursday, August 30, 2007
I received the bag today and I'm keeping everything in it (thanks DrCris and livrecache, from whom all the books here came)

I've been stockpiling books for this bag since I heard about it and I think I have a pretty good selection, BUT to keep things interesting for BellaMack here's what I'm going to do...

In a moment I shall make another journal entry listing the books I'm sending on in the bag, but I will not post the titles or authors of said books, just a list of links to their journal pages.

SO... anyone who wants to know what is in the bag can follow the links and take a look, BUT BellaMack can choose (and I hope she does) not to look and as a result the contents of the bag will be a surprise when it arrives :o)

Journal Entry 21 by freelunch from Cairns, Queensland Australia on Thursday, August 30, 2007
...and here are the books (nine in total) I am sending on in this bag:

Journal Entry 22 by BellaMack from St Helens, Tasmania Australia on Monday, September 3, 2007
Thank you so much freelunch, it was a wonderful surprise when the bookbag arrived home with such lovely books in it. I had not been receiving journal entries because of the bookcrossing glitch or else I'm sure it would have been very difficult not to peek at the links.

Thanks everybody for participating in the bookbag.

Journal Entry 36 by DrCris from Templestowe, Victoria Australia on Tuesday, March 4, 2008
What a disaster. Ended up finding three books under my desk that didn't get in, so I had to slit the bag to put them in and seal it back up. And THEN I found out I have lost my packing tape. They were happy enough at the post office, and told me it was 200g lighter than it could be, so it was good I popped the extra bits in. Lets just hope it doesn't disintegrate over the Bass Straight.

Journal Entry 37 by BellaMack from St Helens, Tasmania Australia on Thursday, March 6, 2008
