This is written for young adults but this book is for anyone. It made me cry. I belive it is the best Mermaid book ever written, even the best mermaid book that will ever be written.

Oh my goodness! This book is beautiful. The Little Mermaid is one of my favorite fairy tales, but it pales in comparison to this book. I want to go and read all about Greek mythology now too. Incredible. I will search for a deserving home for this little book!

Oh, I really, really loved this sweet story! It made me cry too. It had such a better, more believable ending than both the original Little Mermaid and the Disney version. I even love the cover art!!! I can't wait for my daughter to get older so I can buy this book for her.

Thank you so much cornelia, for starting this book on its BookCrossing journey. And thank you lauraloo for sharing it with me. I will send it to mitziyah today. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!!!

This was a sweet little story. I loved the incorporation of all the greek myths, gods, etc. I felt that it dealt with some more "real" complications of being a mermaid and trying to have relations with humans than I've seen in any other mermaid story I've encountered. I wasn't emotionally invested enough to actually cry, I guess, but it was a lovely, bittersweet story. (I took this book with me while on vacation with my family. My sister (another BXer) also read it over the weekend, so she'll be making a quick entry too...even though she's not on the bookring list (I hope that this is not a violation of some holy bookcrossing law *smile*). Once Lpree sends me their address I will mail this to them.

I read this while I was on vacation with my sister and she had it through a bookring. I liked it very much. I enjoyed the bits of mythology and I liked the writing style. It was an interesting interpretation of a mermaid, and a story I had not heard told before. Certainly worth a read. It didn't make me cry but then I was reading it in a car with a rambunctious 4 year old so I wasn't able to be fully absorbed. Anyway. The book has been sent on to the next person in the ring. Enjoy!

I finished this book last night - I thought this was a nice story. I love these books that explore an old story in a new way. It was a quick but enjoyable read. I too enjoyed the Greek mythology and the reality of a mermaid's life that are included in this book. Thanks lauraloo29 for sharing this book!

I've PM'd Geegal for an address and will try to mail this out later this week.

UPDATE 9/27 - Sent air mail today (only 20 cents difference) to Geegal.

I read this book for a class on fairy tales. The assigment was to read a retelling of a fairy tale. I liked how mythology was mixed in with the story of the little mermaid. I honestly don't remember the ending since the class was a few semesters ago.

bookchick88 has requested this... waiting to hear back from her.

This book is amazing, I almost don't want to let it go. I'm so happy I read it before I send it off to my bestie for her birthday. I know she's going to love this book, it was just stunning, and I loved the ending, it almost had me in tears. Love really is a powerful thing.

Thank you Juanet! Anything that has to do with mermaids has always fascinated me, so I know I will love this. Perhaps I will take it on my 18 hour bus ride next month to see you and read it then. :)

So I couldn't wait to read this ... lol.

It was such a sweet story; I truly enjoyed it, as well as the mythology. And like others have said, the story and ending was much more believeable than that of Disney's The Little Mermaid. I loved the emotion the author wove into the book that truly connected me to the characters, and I was almost in tears by the end.

Thank you for sending this to me, Juanet! I will mark this book as available, even though I will hate to part with such a beautiful story! But it is one of those books that is too good not to share. :)
