From the cover of this book, you would think that it was a very fluffy read. However, that's not the case. This book is a great beach read, but it's no Bridget Jones! More comedy of manners like Wickham's other novels. The only book she's published as Madeleine Wickham that even resembles her Sophie Kinsella novels is The Wedding Girl. Now I haven't read all her novels, but from the ones I have read, that is my opinion. Still, all in all, a good read and not a bad way to pass an afternoon.
