Like A is for Alibi, this was another fun and fast read. I did have a suspicion of the story-line fairly early on, though there were enough twists and turns to keep me unsure that I was right. I really like Kinsey as she's such an honest, down-to-earth heroine; witty, brave but not unrealistically super-powerful and able to function without having a man around!

I also love the supporting characters, especially the feisty Julia Ochsner and the mohawk-haired Mike.

This series may not be deep and meaningful but it's enjoyable!

Got this in the post today - have got a couple of books to read before it - i look forward to reading it as soon as they are out of the way!!! Hope it's as good fun to read as the last one!

I actually enjoyed this one more than A is for Alibi. I found myself getting more into this one. Unlike WelshHelen though, i didn't start to work out where it was going until fairly late into the story. Maybe that's why i enjoyed it more - not working out the plot line so quickly! The Kinsey character is growing on me too and i loved the Julia character in it!!

Thanks for sharing will get this one moving ASAP.

Almost finished this one - they're lovely quick reads!
Hayes13 has asked to be skipped on this one as she's got a copy from elsewhere.
Jonniboi's not available for PMs at the moment but I've got an address from RABCK.com and will be posting this off as soon as I can.

I really enjoyed this book, if anything I preferred it to A is for Alibi.
I'm still undecided how I feel about the heroine - she's strong and independent, yet there's something about her that makes me think I would dislike her if I met her in real life. I can't quite pin down what it is but I'm hoping the view will become clearer with the future books in the series. I still feel I want to know more about her exploits so it's not enough to stop me reading!
Agree with WelshHelen about the supporting characters and I felt like their personalities were much more developed this time around.
Overall this is turning into a fun, easy to read and entertaining series and I'm looking forward to reading more.

I have just received this, but I haven't read A is for Alibi yet, as I have not received it as I'm last in the line for that book. So I shall contact the next person on the list and once a few weeks have gone by and I still haven't received the 1st book, I shall send it on, however if I do then I shall read A is for Alibi as quick as I can along with this book!

Journal Entry 12 by JonniC from Birmingham, West Midlands United Kingdom on Thursday, October 1, 2009
still haven't received A is for Alibi, so I have decided to move this book on, instead of waiting, WelshHelen, could you please put me on the bottom of the list so that I will eventually get this book back once I have read A is for Alibi. I hope that's okay with everyone, shall be sending the next week, maybe, depends if I'm feeling better!

Journal Entry 13 by JonniC from Birmingham, West Midlands United Kingdom on Friday, October 9, 2009
okay change of plan, considering Welshhelen has asked me to do this...

I shall keep the book and wait for A is for Alibi to come through. I'm just getting annoyed seeing it on my shelf doing nothing. But Welshhelen doesn't want the same thing to happen to C, which is fair enough. So I'll just sit patiently for A is for Alibi to come through!

FINALLY, I've managed to read this book, sorry for the incredible long wait, it's just that I hadn't read A is for Alibi. But I have nw as I got one sent through! I promise I'll send it out in the new year, and I'm really sorry for keeping this held up at my place!

This book was a bit better than A is for Alibi, and I especially loved Julia, at Eighty-Eight years old and she still managed to scamper down and take that ticket out of the bin right under the nose of Pat Usher, hee hee, I found that hilarious! She is someone I'd like to hear more about (but I doubt I'll get that chance!) I cannot wait for "C is for Corpse"!

Dutch-book is next inline, but she has been asked to be skipped on this book as she already has it, I shall send to the US!

Journal Entry 17 by NMReader from Herndon, Virginia USA on Tuesday, March 2, 2010
Sorry for the delay with journaling this book. It apparently went to my old work address and I was only contacted a week ago by former coworker who mailed it to me.

It is joining several other books that I need to read. I will get to as soon as I can and pass on.

An update on the book:

I should start this book today or tomorrow.

March 24: I started the book on Sunday but a very busy period at work has only allowed me to make it to chapter 3 so far. It is a small book, 229 pages, and I hope to finish it quickly and get it on its way again soon.

March 30 AM: I have not made good progress in this book as I had others that I needed to get on there way sooner. I am in Chapter 8 on page 68. Kinsey has just talked to the Grice's neighbor. I leave on a business trip today and hope to get some reading done while out of town.

March 30 PM: I've got 100 pages left. I am going to try and read some more before going to sleep. Would like to complete before getting home.

Journal Entry 19 by NMReader from Herndon, Virginia USA on Thursday, April 1, 2010
I like Sue Grafton's writing style and I like her tough (but not too tough) main character. I have read many of the alphabet murder books but it is nice to be reading them in order. I am getting some pieces of the puzzle put in the correct order.

While this was a small book, it was not disappointing. While I had never read this particular book, I believe I listened to it on tape. The characters are interesting and developed enough not to be flat. It appears that thought was given to how some characters would reappear later in the series.

Thanks for including me. I have the next person's address and hope to drop at the PO this evening.

An enjoyable and quick read. There were enough twist and turns in the book to keep me guessing, although I had some of it figured out before it was revealed in the book. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

I felt like there was too much going on in this book. It got very exciting towards the end. What's going to happen with Jonah? He has too much baggage if you ask me ;)
