For One More Day

Bought this at the airport while on my way to Helsinki. :D
This book was a lovely surprise. I bought it on a whim as the backflap doesn't really give you much of an idea of what the book is about, but it turned out to be a very nice book. It's a pretty simple and common story of a man who comes to terms with the mistakes he made by looking back at his life and learning more about his mother's life. It's obviously some sort of tribute to the author's mum, as motherly love and everything that has to do with it is dripping from the pages, but it doesn't get annoyingly mushy, so I guess that's quite an achievement. :D Anyway, a lovely story and the book put a smile on my face, and made me want to call my mum. :D Looking forward to reading more of this author's work!
I am going to take it to either the Tampere or Helsinki meeting to see if anyone is interested in taking this book home. :D

22.4.2007 It was really nice to meet you, rapturina! I read Albom's 5 people you meet in heaven some months ago (one of the total four books I've managed to read this year...) and I really enjoyed it and Albom's writing style. Going to TBR-pile.
15.9.2014 I read the book a little while ago already. I still enjoy Albom's writing style very much - it's inspirational, thought-provoking and even philosophical sometimes. The ghost story part was rather intriguing even if I'm far from believing in spirits and after-life. I only hope I could be as good mum as the one, of whom the story tells about.

Thank you very much for sending me this book which was on my wishlist. I am very impatient to read it now :-)
I really enjoyed reading this book, and I would really like to be able to explain why. As I lack of words, I would put this citation instead:
“When you look into your mother’s eyes, you know that is the purest love you can find on this earth.”
The "excercises" ("Times my Mom stood up for me" and "Times I didn't stand up for my mother") are really good ones and very inspirational.
Thanks a lot again for sharing this book with me

Received today, thank you! :)
I liked the style of this book, the way it is written, the story...
It's very moving, and showes well the regrets we can have sometimes, for our actions, or for what we didn't do.

Enjoy! ;)
Thank you Harobed, I received the book today through the "Ring anglophone". I don't know the book nor the author, I'm happy to be able to discover both!
Very moving book about family. I didn't know Mitch Albom (shame on me!), but now I'd like to read his other books!
