"Something Borrowed" tells the story of Rachel, a young attorney living and working in Manhattan. Rachel has always been the consummate good girl---until her thirtieth birthday, when her best friend, Darcy, throws her a party. That night, after too many drinks, Rachel ends up in bed with Darcy's fiancé. Although she wakes up determined to put the one-night fling behind her, Rachel is horrified to discover that she has genuine feelings for the one guy she should run from. As the September wedding date nears, Rachel knows she has to make a choice. In doing so, she discovers that the lines between right and wrong can be blurry, endings aren't always neat, and sometimes you have to risk all to win true happiness.
Sent today (via surface mail) as a RABCK to themadjock.
Thank you very much Aunt Sophie, it was waiting for me when I returned from holiday today. I'm looking forward to reading this having really enjoyed something blue.

Really enjoyable read - reasonably happy ending - pity that so often in love affairs some people have to get hurt - but then that's life. Would recommend this book - Emily Giffin writes a good story.
While I enjoyed this book, I felt it wasn't as good as Something Blue. This was possibly due to the fact that I knew the outcome, (having read the books out of sequence), but I suspect it was more to do with the story being more predictable. I was also uncomfortable with the deceipt and dishonesty of the characters and as a result found it difficult to like them. Unlike Something Blue, I didn't feel the characters grew much during the story. However, it was nice to read the other side of the story.
For me it was just okay. Thanks again aunt-sophie for sharing.

Sent to Blundery as a RABCK, who currently has the 2nd book as part of a bookring.
YAY - this arrived super speedily. I will balance it precariously on top of my TBR pile. Thanks so much for sharing themadjock, I think I will squeeze this one in before Something Blue so I can read them in order.
This was an easy read with no real suprises, although I must admit I did make a rather false prediction about who would get 'the girl' in the end. I am looking forward to reading more about what happens next in "something Blue". Thanks for sharing this book themadjock.

Hey, This book caused a little stress during its journey to Kuwait but it finally arrived safe and sound :)
I loved the book!! I couldn't put it down till I was finished reading it But to be honest, I didn't like the whole cheating thing!! The affair made me sick!!
Sent to 300dogs in the US.....ENJOY!
Just arrived today-yippee. Have a few ahead of this but will get to it asap!
Yikes-all the rays arrive at once! I finally got to start this book yesterday and am already 100 pages into it! I like it so far...
I just finished reading this book and I enjoyed it. I had no idea what either one of these books were about and I especially didn't know that Something Blue is written from Darcy's point of view. What a great idea. I am looking forward to completing the story with the sequel.
On a personal note, along with Rachel and Dex, I am a HUGE Bruce Springsteen fan and Thunder Road is my all time favorite Bruce song!! What a bonus!!
Oh, one more thing, the book that I read right before this one was Chasing Harry Winston by Lauren Weisberger author of The Devil Wears Prada. In that book, at one point the character Leigh was reading Something Blue and mentioned that it was the sequel to Something Borrowed!!
Thank you Blundery for starting this ray. I will start Something Blue after this busy Labor Day weekend and mail them both off to the next reader later next week.

Received in the post yesterday. Will be reading before Halloween.
I really enjoyed this book. Read in one sitting yesterday evening prior to bed. I really loved the characters of Rachel, Marcus, Dexter and yes, even Darcy.
I started to read the next one, as I was anxious to read the tale through the eyes of Darcy, but alas sleep prevailed and I was only able to get through a few chapters.

Received in the mail today along with Something Blue. Thanks to Blundery for including me and thanks to spaceystacey for shipping them to me. A have a couple other rings before these but will get them in the mail to DitteL before Thanksgiving.
Finished this one about a week ago, it was an entertaining story. I really don't like Darcy's character and I'm glad the story ended how it did. I already have DitteL address so I will get this out in the mail sometime this week along with Something Blue.

Finished reading this a couple of days ago. It wasn't my favoutie chick-lit. I didn't care much for the cheating and I got a bit frustrated by the fact that Darcy was portraited as an "evil" person who deserved it. I thought the book would have been better if Darcy had been depicted as a genuinely nice person who was wronged by her fiance and her best friend - it would somehow be more real.
I haven't started reading 'Something Blue' yet. But it'll be interesting to see how Darcy moves on with her life and hopefully she'll be portraited in a different and more likeable way.
