Darcy Rhone thought she had it all figured out: the more beautiful the girl, the more charmed her life. Never mind substance. Never mind playing by the rules. Never mind karma.

But Darcy's neat, perfect world turns upside down when her best friend, Rachel, the plain-Jane “good girl,” steals her fiancé, while Darcy finds herself completely alone for the first time in her life…with a baby on the way.

Darcy tries to recover, fleeing to her childhood friend living in London and resorting to her tried-and-true methods for getting what she wants. But as she attempts to recreate her glamorous life on a new continent, Darcy finds that her rules no longer apply. It is only then that Darcy can begin her journey toward self-awareness, forgiveness, and motherhood.

7 out of 10

I thoroughly enjoyed this story, especially when there were a few twists that I wasn't expecting, (which is always good). I hadn't initially appreciated it was the second book, although it made absolutely no difference. Darcy, despite her faults was a likeable character and I enjoyed reading about her journey and the changes she made in her life and the people affected by her choices.

Thank you for sharing aunt-sophie.

I really enjoyed this book. Thought Darcy was a real character, it was nice to see her change by the end of the book.

WOOHOO - It turned up :-) I was so sure this book had been lost in the post. I am wondering if it might have been transported by a slow paddling dinghy (Singapore to Perth in a little over two months??). I have one and a half books at the top of my reading pile but I am sure it wont take too long to get this book started.

Thank for sending this book Dei, and thanks so much themadjock for starting the book ring.

Ya' know, I never did like her even at the end! I don't know if my dislike for Darcy was too ingrained from reading the previous book first (Something borrowed), but I just found her so annoyingly self absorbed and I wasn't happy that her happy ever after came so easily.
Although, I did enjoy reading the book - yes, thats right, I enjoyed reading a book whilst filled with dislike towards the main character - go figure.
Thanks so much for sharing this themadjock, I have pm'ed the next person on the list and will send it off to them quick sticks.

So pleased I read Something Borrowed first - Something Blue followed on perfectly. Have to admit I was getting quite irritated at Darcy's attitude towards life in general - absolutely delighted that she had the courage to make a list of ways she felt she could change and become a better person - thrilled that she managed it - wonderful read, great ending - thoroughly recommended.

I really enjoyed this, though I have to confess I really didn't like the protagonist, Darcy. She came across as selfish, self-absorbed (even if in the end she had improved slightly) and I hated her dishonesty. Of course I might have been prejudiced from the prequel ...

thanks again madjock for the swap ... I'll make both these books into a package for the kesapaivat (non convention here in Finland) ... a nice RABCK for one of the participants.
