The Murder of Roger Ackroyd (The Christie Collection)
6 journalers for this copy...
Mrs. Ferrars died on Thursday, September 16th.
Mr. Ferrars had died one year earlier.
Village rumour had accused her of poisoning her husband, but no one was sure until the letter to the man she loved was discovered.
But Roger Ackroyd never had the chance to finish reading the letter - for he was the next in the chain of death.
No one suspected the killer until Flora Ackroyd called in the retired resident of The Larches - Hercule Poirot.

Taken out of Marlene-TC's bookbox. I don't know if I will read it myself. I will probably pass it on as RABCK, but will put it on TBR first.

15.7. I've been on summer holidays and just come home for a few days before going off again. There was a package waiting for me when I got home and this book was in it. Thank you for fulfilling my wish, dutchbooky!
22.2. I finished reading the book today during my lunch. It was actually the very first Agatha Christie's book I've ever read! I wonder what has taken me so long? I've of course seen movies and at least one play based on her books, but it's not the same thing. Poirot is my favorite Christie's character, by the way.
As it was the first Christie's book I've ever read, I didn't know what to expect exactly. First I was surprised that the story was not written from the detective's point of view. I don't know if this is how all Christie's books have been written - I'll find out once I read a few more. The peculiar character of Poirot didn't strike out that well from the book as it does from the movies. I wasn't able to suspect the murderer at all and I found the end of the story rather sad.

Thank you hetku77! Nice to have a mystery in the library along side with all the classiscs!
This book appears to be lost, Hetku77 sent it on, but the book was never journalled. We hope to hear from it soon.
It's here! Sorry it never got caught, I thought I had. I took it down from my bookshelf to read a couple of days ago. I'm just under a third of my way through.
This is a wonderful whodunnit, I really enjoy the Poirot TV adaptations but I've never read any of Agatha Christie's novel's before. I'll definitely read more of them in the future.
Sorry, I think I read this before Stubee but never got round to journalling it!
I loved this book! I'd read Murder on the Orient Express (which I really enjoyed) before reading this one, but actually I enjoyed this one more because of it's innovative ending which I didn't see coming and can see why it had such an impact on the genre. Great writing from the Queen of Crime and having read a couple of other of Christie's books since reading this (mainly ones that have been turned into films or TV programmes so far) I'll continue to work through the rest of her back catalogue!
