Journal Entry 2 by CurtAngel from Warr Acres, Oklahoma USA on Thursday, August 21, 2003
Got in the mail yesterday, read some last night. Looks very interesting. I don't read the forums too often, so the note in the book was the first I heard of there being a journal with the book. I don't know if I'll be able to participate or not.
Book seems to be fairly well read, I hope it can make it through all these people okay. :)

I read Interview with the Vampire about five years ago. I was surpised at how much I enjoyed it. For some reason that I no longer remember, I wanted to know more about Armand. I always meant to read The Vampire Lestat, but for some reason I never did. Well, I'm glad I did, and I wish I knew where my copy of Interview is, because I'd like to reread it now.
The words and imagery were beautiful, making acts I want to call monstrous somehow acceptable.
I now very much want to read the next book. The last page refers to it as "The Vampire Chronicles" but I assume that it is "Queen of the Damned".
I'll probably be able to get this out to the next person in the next few days.

The book arrived safe and sound today. It is fairly well read as CurtAngel described the book's condition. I have quite a TBR pile of rings and rays, so I won't be able to get to this book immediately. You can track my progress on my bookshelf.

I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do about the add a photograph instructions. I haven't taken any physical photographs in nearly 2 years. I suppose I could upload a digital one here.

I tried to get into the book but after a while it just became repetitive. It's too moody and too slow. Lestat goes from being depressed to being HUNGRY to being crazy to be depressed ad nauseum. In terms of the crazy French vampire sub-genre, I must admit that I enjoyed Sips of Blood much more.

Re the journal: I only have a digital camera so no prints for a journal.

Released on Wednesday, October 15, 2003 at Fellow BookCrosser in Fort Collins, Colorado USA.

Mailed to WittyJean to get the book ring moving again.

I received The Vampire Lestat in the mail a couple of months ago, then got caught up in finals and the holidays, so I must apologize to everyone that I completely forgot about this ring. Please forgive me. Thank you to the kind reminders I received.

I recently read Interview with a Vampire and could not decide whether or not I was a fan of the gothic novels Anne Rice writes. I have decided that while I think her characterization is amazing and her setting brilliant, I doubt I will pick up another one of her novels. She does a marvelous job of setting up an eerie, mystical environment and developing the desperation of a human being who discovers himself gradually evolving into a monster. I don't think, however, that this type of thing is for me. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this ring. And once again, the book is On The Move!
