I didn't find it as amazing as many of the critics apparently seemed to, however it was an interesting read. What happens is that a family of four, a woman, her children and her new husband, go on holiday to Norfolk. Once there, a stranger called Amber turns up on their doorstep, and begins to push boundaries and change each member of the family individually.

The book's narrative switches between all four members of the family, with a short first person part by (probably) Amber. It is also split into the beginning, the middle and the end, with each chapter beginning with those words.

I found it a very untaxing read, the language seemed languid. Great for relaxing with.
