My friend DMA7 keeps buying books and sending them to me -- how generous! I keep telling her to register them at BC, but she's happy just sharing them :)

I've heard lots of people say they didn't like this quite as much as Kiterunner, and that surprises me. Yes, Kiterunner is an amazing book, but this one is better, honestly. Perhaps it's more story than a personal history? I'm not sure, but I liked it better. For me, this one has far more hope than that, and that -- if nothing else -- gives it a leg up.
Kiterunner was so unbearably sad that there were times I just had to put it down and step away. I'm not saying that a sad book can't be good -- it was; it was brilliant. But this one (even though it contains "sad" too) I couldn't put down, and whipped through it quickly in a single weekend.
Either way, this author is one I will continue to come back to.
And now I'm sending this to another friend!
