Selected for Olympic Challenge Uzbekistan and goes to Hobbit when finished. This was like a State of the Union address and I'm glad I read it because we have forgotten what it is like to start a country from scratch.

It took me quite a while to read this as it sometimes felt a little bureaucratic and stilted, but with awkward wordings like sentence fragments that caused me to re-read several times to try to get the meaning. I agree, though, it was good food for thought and gave me some insight into the difficult position of trying to start a new country with a radically different structure from the previous government. It also pointed out some interesting things about Uzbekistan that I hadn't really paid attention to - for example, it is landlocked with no ports.

I sent this off today to Sheepseeker, who will pass it on to blackwidow, who may pass it on or whatever when she's done.

7 out of 10

This has been the only non-fiction book I read for the Olympic Challenge.
It's been an interesting read - all the more since things have changed dramatically in that region shortly after the book was published. The writing style was a bit of a challenge at times, but I think that's mainly due to the translation.

Thanks for sharing the book with us! I'm now waiting for blackwidow1971's address...

On its way to blackwidow1971 since June, 21st.
