This play's reputation is definitely deserved. A complex exploration of love, lust, jealousy, envy, spite, and race, it's excruciatingly suspenseful and absolutely brilliant. This is a very useful edition that can help even those most unfamiliar with Shakespeare, thanks to the facing-page notes.
