Picked this up for a bargain price at a second hand book sale in the 'Stow. Really looking forward to getting my teeth into it.

What a shame. As I really enjoyed 'White Noise', I'd been really looking forward to this yet it turned out to be a bit of a disappointment. Although DeLillo's prose is excellent in flashes, there's really not enough in this book to hold the reader's interest for the whopping 800 plus pages. It's a bit of a rambling book really, spanning several decades of American life, but somewhere along the line, I think the point got lost. As I say, there's some good stuff in here, I'm just not convinced it's worth the investment of time required to find it.
