A novel about a nine-year-old American girl spending a year in an English cathedral town, in which she relates her impressions, tells of her favourite stories and dreams, and comes to terms with the politics of school and friendships.

I'm not really sure what I thought of this book. While I can appreciate the author's skill in recreating Nory's world so vividly, it didn't really draw me in, and I finished the book not really caring much what happened to Nory or her family and friends.
