From back of the book:

In Espresso Tales, Alexander McCall Smith returns home to Edinburgh and the glorious cast of his own tales of the city, the residents of 44 Scotland Street, with a new set of challenges for each one of them.

Another relaxing and enjoyable read. Smith does a great job with the characters. I feel as though the residents of 44 Scotland Street are real people and I can't wait to find out what happens to them next.

Received today, thanks star-light! Am reading 44 Scotland St at the moment but will get it read quite quickly so I can pass it to bookworm-BNE at our next meetup.

I found this book more enjoyable than 44 Scotland St. I guess the characters were already old friends this time around! I particularly wanted to know how things were going to turn out for Bertie. I really felt sorry for him with his pink "space" and crushed strawberry dungarees! I do wonder though what the note said that Sharon left for Bruce. Now I will have to wait for he next book, Love Over Scotland, coming soon according to his website. Thanks star-light for sharing this book.

As bookworm-bne can't make it to the meetup this Sunday, I will be giving the book to aleonblue to pass on to her. Thanks aleonblue

Picked up from Frangipani08 at today's meet-up of the Brisbane BC group - will pass on to Bookworm-BNE when I next see her (and might take a quick peek at it myself before it reaches her!)

I just finished 44 Scotland Street so looking forward to continuing the journey with the colourful inhabitants of 44 Scotland Street straight away. I'm off travelling for a while so although I will bring this book back to continue the bookring it will be visiting Singapore, Germany, Denmark and Sweden in the next two weeks :)
Thanks for sharing.

Good to follow the occupants of 44 Scotland street a bit further. Very relieved that Stuart finally took some initiative with Bertie. A lot of things seem resolved and finished, will there be more? Most likely... I just checked, internet junkie that I am - "Love Over Scotland" is coming soon! Better go and update my wishlist :)
Thanks for sharing, it has been a good travel companion (currently in Cologne, Germany). I will send on to charliewendy on my return to Australia in 10 days or so.

I just love this series about the residents of 44 Scotland Street. I was very happy to catch up with what they were doing. Lots of chuckles at some very funny situations. I will be looking forward to the next instalment.

This is going in the mail to kalasue tomorrow morning (June 11).

Thanks for sharing star-light!!

As did everyone else, I enjoyed this, especially Bertie and Stuart making some progress towards independence. Somehow these books always make me feel relaxed and amused... an all too rare experience in modern novels.

Thanks star-light - returning to you soon.

Somehow this got to the pile of books at our lunchtime Booklette at Woden (Canberra) today ... maybe Skyring brought it along? Anyway - however it arrived, arrive it did, and having heard very good things about this series from a friend, I snaffled it quick smart!

Reserved for Peggysmum after I've read it...

Sorry guys, I seriously dropped the ball on this one - the book got packed when we moved house 2 years ago, and I've only just rediscovered it!

Shall pass it directly on to peggysmum if she's still interested ...

Collected from the lovely AussieNisi at her wonderful library talk! Great to have a quick catch up and catch some books at the same time :)

Love the No 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series, but have not managed to read any of his books yet, so look forward to this one from 44 Scotland Street.
