From back of book:
'Ten days after the war ended, my sister Laura drove a car off a bridge.'
More than fifty years on, Iris Chase is remembering Laura's mysterious death. And so begins an extraordinary and compelling story of two sisters and their secrets. Set against a panoramic backdrop of twentieth-century history, The Blind Assasin is an epic tale of memory, intrigue and betrayal.
I just bought this from a secondhand book shop for a bargain $4. It is on the Angus and Robertson Top 100 List which I wish to complete by the end of 2007. I will read this and then release it.

So much for that Top 100 list!
I finally got around to reading this and have to say I was a bit underwhelmed. It just didn't grab me. I persevered, but by the end I was just glad to finish it. Maybe because I'd been wanting to read it for so long my expectations were too high. It hasn't turned me off reading more Margaret Atwood though, maybe I'll connect better with one of her other works. I'll release it over the next few days, hopefully someone else will have better luck with it.
