The Tenderness of Wolves

I like books set in ice and snow - this meets the test.
I hate that it has "Costa Coffee Book of the Year" blasted in big type on the front of the book. I feel like a walking advertisment. If it was not for the subject matter of the novel (which interests me), I would refuse to have bought the book. Publishers beware!!

There was a lot of hype about this book and I was supremely keen to read it.
Unfortunately, by the end, this felt like it was tough to finish. It took me a long time to read this, about 3 weeks perhaps. I liked the story but it meandered and then there were many loose ends. You were left to assume what would happen to many of the subsidiary characters. But on balance, I am glad I read this.
I will release this book into the wild.
