"Belle de Jour is the nom de plume of a high-class call girl working in London. This is her story."

It's not a kiss-and-tell.
Well, there is kissing in it, and of course being a book it tells a story, but this book is not sleazy. It's a compelling story of a woman I would like to know. But not necessarily introduce my boyfriend to....

Finally finished. Sorry for the delay! Well, the book is not really what I expected. It reads like a genuine diary, but it's fairly boring, despite the explicit parts as it doesn't even attempt at a plot. Couldn't lose the feeling that the one thing the author wanted (whatever her name might be...) was to prove that she's just like everybody else... or rather just like every other chicklit heroine, only she is paid for the sex. Unfortunately, this alone doesn't make an interesting read... on the contrary. Or let's put it like this: If the praise quoted on the backside says 'She lists like Hornby'... this probably means people were really TRYING to say something nice but couldn't find it!
