Journal Entry 9 by gaelpixie from Leeds, West Yorkshire United Kingdom on Wednesday, November 19, 2008
I found this to be really quite a good read - very Gothic, a galloping adventure across the wild landscape, with a brave heroine triumphing over evil. Perfect escapism, but at the same time a long hard look at relationships between men and women. It has it's share of cliches, and Du Maurier positively wallows in the marshes on the bleak moors, but these all go to make an enjoyable adventure for cold November evenings.
