Terrific friend gave me a box of audios for listening & bookcrossing. I am the one who introduced this friend to David Sedaris. Here's the LINK to the one I read, with some favorite quotes.

Will share this with others by sending in Carlissa's Audio Book Box See this Link

I'm sooooooo glad this was still in the bookbox when it got to me! I didn't want to get my hopes up, but now I'm especially happy :-)

I adore David Sedaris' works and I can't wait to listen to both David and Amy read these stories! Thanks!

I finished this today in the car. I adore reading David Sedaris' works, but there's nothing that's as much fun as listening to him read!

I didn't love this quite as much as some of his others, but I still laughed out loud quite a few times. The mix of fiction and nonfiction was interesting- but it was difficult to tell in an audio recording which was which for the first few paragraphs of each story. I loved the nonfiction the best (why is it that his family is SO much funnier than mine? LOL!) but the fictional stories were definitely interesting, too- and it was neat how I noticed bits of his life jumping into the fiction stories.

I have a copy of the book as well, and notice that a few stories in the book don't appear on the tapes, even though it doesn't say abridged. The order of stories is also different, which is strange and probably contributed to my being confused (not knowing which was an essay and which was a story at first). So I'm going to read the book as well.

Still... there's nothing like listening to David, and Amy was great to hear, too! (It's my first time hearing her on one of the recordings, though I'm no stranger to Strangers with Candy) Definitely a fun experience and lots of great laughs :-)

I'm taking this out of Katekintail's Cassette Audio Book Box Ray! Thank you Kate! This will be a re-read for me, but I've never heard it before and I love Sedaris' voice and hearing him read his own stories!
